Sodium Metabisulfite Property:

White or slightly yellow crystalline powder. Soluble in water, acidic aqueous solution. Soluble in glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol. Easily decompose when sodium metabisulfite becomes wet , When exposed in air it will easily oxidize into sulfate. Emit sulfur dioxide and generate the corresponding salts when sodium metabisulphite contacts with acid. Sodium metabisulfite will decompose when heated to 150 ℃.

Sodium Metabisulphite can be divided into third categories according to its use:sodium metabisulfite food grade and sodium metabisulfite technology grade .
